The Management's Declaration of Quality
Schaltbau GmbH is a leading supplier of electromechanical components and systems in the field of transportation and other industrial applications.
The company has three locations:
Munich headquarters:
- Management, R & D, sales and administration
- Factory at Aldersbach: Piece part production
- Factory at Velden: Assembly and logistics.
- The long term existence of the company, and its success depends to a large extent on how we meet our customers expectations and keep them satisfied with our products and services. This can only be achieved by an extensive policy towards quality, together with ideas as to values and targets:
The demands of customers regarding quality, the environment, cost, product safety and reliability can only be fulfilled by close co-operation and partnership.
- Every employee is required to join fulfilling this demand. Complete quality awareness, and thinking towards quality should therefore be built up and nurtured at all levels. The principle of zero defects is to be put into action.
- Continual improvement of all processes and activities by working together with customers, suppliers and employees is an important prerequisite for increasing customer satisfaction. This can be brought about by team work, open discussion, trusting each other and working together.
- For this purpose, suitable and universal measurement systems are to be developed and introduced, allowing to convey an objective performance standard with regard to the most important aspects of customer satisfaction.
- Concrete objectives for all sections and departments are to be drawn up in line with the constant process of improvement, including performance measurements and progress checks, and when required , adjustments made. For the most important procedures process teams dedicated to and responsible for a specific process should be drawn up.
- Our quality and environmental management system must be continuously adjusted to the increasing customer demands in order to achieve our aim of getting the best rates of customer satisfaction in our field.
With this policy concerning quality, Schaltbau GmbH wants to secure and build up its position as leading supplier of high quality components and systems world wide.
Schaltbau GmbH's system of organisational and technical measures for quality management are described in a Quality and Environmental Management Handbook, according to the ISO 9001 standards, and will be a fixed obligation from the management for all sections and departments. Additional or secondary standards to ISO 9001 shall be incorporated into this handbook to keep it adjusted accordingly. The responsibility for carrying this out always lies with the management of the mentioned section or department.
The management has given the responsibility of the structuring and maintenance of the quality management system to the head of the quality department. He will control and assess its effectiveness by means of regular internal quality audits.
The head of the quality department has independence as far as organisation is concerned, in order to be able to fulfil this task; he has the right and the duty to reject faulty products and to prevent them being delivered. He will report directly to the management within the scope of his activities, about all the important questions of quality management and, if necessary, submit any decisions in this context.
