Milestones

10/1991 Schaltbau was one of the first companies in the industry to start have its quality management systems certified according to ISO 9002:1987 at three locations.
1993 Certification according to ISO 9002:1987 was achieved, certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:1994 followed in 1994 and has been maintained ever since.
1997 Development and implementation of an environmental management according to EN ISO 14001:1996.
2001 Integration of both systems with a common handbook as well as process and working guidelines.
03/2002 Certification of the integrated system according to EN ISO 14001:1996 for the three company locations.
1999-2001 The Munich location is designated as an ÖKOPROFIT company.
2004 Schaltbau products free of mercury and polybrominated flame retardants such as PBB and PBDE. Conversion to cadmium free contact finishes (by the end of 2005)
2005 Conversion to lead free solders in manually soldered connections and to chrome VI free surfaces
from 2006 Conversion to lead free solders for the solder automats of snap-action switches
10/2008 The Schaltbau production locations Velden and Aldersbach are certified to the quality standard IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard).
