From September 18 to 21, Schaltbau will be showcasing at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin their latest product innovations including the UIC-IT Series railway connector, a high-current disconnector and snap-action switches for extreme conditions. The range of products on display will be supplemented by railway contactors, master controllers and toggle switches. We look forward to welcoming you at our stand 202, hall 2.2.

High-current disconnector
The high-current disconnector from Schaltbau is designed for use with rail vehicles that are powered by a catenary. It is used as a disconnector with potential isolation for traction converters. Its innovative switching system combines all the positive features of pressure-spring contacts and knife switches in one device – without their disadvantages.

UIC-IT Series railway connector
The new
UIC-IT Series has been successfully tested in a pilot project of German Railways over a period of more than 18 months and complies with all of the relevant standards. The
UIC-IT is an interface connector that offers reliable Ethernet data transmission between locomotive and passenger coaches. It also fulfils additional requirements, such as those for closed circuit TV, passenger information systems, automatic passenger counters, voice control systems and diagnosis features. The new
UIC-IT Series is equipped with an 8 pole Ethernet module and 16 signal contacts for 24V. The Ethernet module supports transmission rates of up to 10 gigabits. It, therefore, meets standards in accordance with Cat 5, Cat 6 and 6a.

Snap-action switches for extreme conditions
Schaltbau is well-known for its snap-action switches with positive opening operation offering customized solutions for safety-related applications. The new S926 and S970 Series switches have been developed for extreme operating conditions featuring higher resistance to temperature (-55 °C up to +150 °C), to impact and to chemical influences.
