IRIS certification for Schaltbau GmbH

Schaltbau has reached another milestone in quality management: its works at Velden and Aldersbach have been certified to the quality standard IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) since October 2008. IRIS is an internationally recognized standard designed for the evaluation of suppliers and their management systems in the railway industry. It is based on the quality standard ISO 9001 supplemented by the specific requirements of the rolling stock industry.

S850 double break contact from Schaltbau GmbH

S850 – Snap switch with double-break NC contacts and positiv

The new S850 snap-action switch from Schaltbau offers a reasonably priced alternative to PLC (programmable logic controllers): one out of the two controllers can be replaced by the S850 snap-action switch without any reduction in safety or reliability, since it can control two power circuits. As an extra option, the switch has an additional actuator, which turns it into a double make contact at the same time. The double break contact can be used in any situation where particularly high demands are made in terms of the reliability and safety of systems and components, such as train doors, points controls, cranes and lifts.
